Father's day and mother's day are bullshit to sell cards and other crap. This feeds cyclical consumption which capitalism needs. This is sick, distorted behavior. Being kind to family because the TV tells to so, and not out of genuine feelings is sick. People are slaves to television.

Father's day makes people who don't have good father's or even dead father's feel bad. The TV tells people how to feel and what to do. 

Family should not be dependent on exchanging bull shit gifts that non one really needs,
